The reason why Kit got locked up is because she helped Hannah escape. She also got accused of being a witch and helping Hannah with witchcraft. When the mob came to Kit's house they told Uncle Matthew to come with them on their witch hunting party, and Uncle Matthew refused them. Then Goodwife Cruff told Uncle Matthew and Aunt Rachel that Kit has been hanging out with Hannah. So they took Kit, and locked her up in a shed. Aunt Rachel went to visit Kit. She brought her some food, and thinks they are not treating her right.
